Our 4th day in London
was busy with a boat ride on the River Thames more walking, and more rides on busses and the Tube all over Central London. We boarded the river cruise at Westminster Pier near the Eye and continued to the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The live commentary was an interesting way of learning more about London and the buildings and bridges we passed. Great history lesson too. |

Interesting confrontation with London Police (in yellow vests)

Traffic was stopped, a lot of yelling, could have been a parking ticket!

One person involved kept taking cell phone pictures of the police...

We enjoyed the commentary and history lesson as well as the sights.

Our tour
guide said the original London Bridge had much more character, and we noticed
some resentment in his voice. In 1968 original London Bridge was sold to an
American Oil
Co. executive, R.P. McCulloch for $2.46 Mil. and reconstructed at

Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Tower
Bridge, an engineering wonder that puts its plainer sibling, the London Bridge
to shame. (We didn't get a chance to see the Tower drawbridge lifted.)

The
Tower of London in the background. Tour guides recount tales of royal
conspiracy, treason, and murder. The White Tower was both fortress and
residence of kings.

A better view of the Tower of London as the boat made a turn at Tower Bridge!
